Gennaro G. Marino
Urbana, Illinois—The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Central Illinois Section, has selected Gennaro G. Marino, Ph.D., P.E. as Civil Engineer of the Year. Founded in 1852, The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has more than 140,000 members worldwide.
Dr. Marino was recognized in his award nomination for his commitment to excellence in civil and geotechnical engineering practices. His work in the areas of forensic and design engineering is respected by his peers throughout the profession and he is known internationally for his expertise and research in mine subsidence engineering.
Dr. Marino is the founder and principal engineer of Marino Engineering Associates, Inc. in Urbana, Illinois. He is a member of ASCE, Geo-Institute (ASCE), Society of Mining Engineers, and American Society for Testing & Materials: Committee on Soil and Rock Testing (ASTM). He has a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Masters Degree from Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Dayton.
